After a rather tough play, KYRA FC's Victorino Viator got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes, Independiente's Aldo Iruinea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aristides Transito came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Independiente reached it. Aristides Transito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Feliciano Jaunti in the 16th minute. Aristides Transito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. The supporters of Independiente booed when KYRA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Segundo Claris didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Independiente's Feliciano Jaunti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aristides Transito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 41st minute, Independiente's Leo Victoro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. Amado Pacorro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. Independiente's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 47th minute Leo Victoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Transito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
