In the 20th minute, Andy Johnson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Guido Maties had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rdth minute of the game Guido Maties who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Patanes's Ergün Gazzali was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Florin Panțâru who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Armando Matia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ergün Gazzali showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Maties in the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Maties in the 27th minute of play forced Los Patanes's goalkeeper Ergün Gazzali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ergün Gazzali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Maties, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31stth minute of the game Guido Maties who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Patanes's Ergün Gazzali was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ergün Gazzali stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guido Maties's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Alfredo Tulio hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Ergün Gazzali made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Maties in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute Guido Maties shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ergün Gazzali saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafin Chico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Matia having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Guido Maties got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florin Panțâru to strike the kick off in the second half. Guido Maties had several of the Los Patanes's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 51 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Ergün Gazzali as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Guido Maties came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Inter Miami CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guido Maties couldn't finish the play. Guido Matiess short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Ergün Gazzali to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Armando Matia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florin Panțâru in the 63rd minute of play. Juan Raúl Riquelme charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Raúl Riquelme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Los Patanes's zone, Guido Maties stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ergün Gazzali came out of the goal and Guido Maties tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guido Maties recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Inter Miami CF getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Honorato Joanes hit a great ball. When the match was over Inter Miami CF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Los Patanes throughout the match.
