Domingos Santiago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Orixe in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the Salmuera CP defense, Marías Plant kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eloy Vela. The Salmuera CP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eloy Vela should have stopped the shot. Federico Rey was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Free Pot! Paulino Orixe shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mari Guanes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Domingos Santiago stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulino Orixe's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. A collision led to Free Pot getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Igor Eguen hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute, Paulino Orixe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bob Bongo struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Eloy Vela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Free Pot. Domingos Santiago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulino Orixe, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Salmuera CP lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
