The referee ignored Grütly's protests and gave Saturnino Dalmai a yellow card for diving instead. Saturnino Dalmai hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Marcus Rashford struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Isidro Gregory didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kanalla F.C. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Marcus Rashford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kanalla F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Rashford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isidro Gregory breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Isidro Gregory didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcus Rashford went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Grütly players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kanalla F.C were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abel Polo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Gavino Lia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Cebrian got free with Isidro Gregory in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 81 minutes, Gavino Lia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grütly and the Kanalla F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Grütly's Isidro Gregory got control of the ball when Ercüment Tanju tried to sneak it across the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Ercüment Tanju had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isidro Gregory. Grütly's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ercüment Tanju was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The Kanalla F.C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kanalla F.C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
