Casper Epps might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mitch Samuels. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Casper Epps ran back to his position shaking his head. When Adrian Stafford fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Somerset's protests and gave Adrian Stafford a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes Somerset got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Stafford. Alfred Russo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sheldon Benjamin in the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Travis Gauthier during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mechanicville's Travis Gauthier got a free kick in the 28th minute. Somerset's attentive Casper Epps managed to snatch the ball when Daryl Hawkins made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. Donny Ladner kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Mechanicville's goal looked a bit too open when Ervin Woodall came free, but Mitch Samuels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sheldon Benjamin during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lincoln Root stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfred Russo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sheldon Benjamin in the 56th minute of play. Emanuel Gipson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Adrian Stafford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mechanicville booed when Somerset was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donny Lincoln didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 played minutes Somerset got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Gipson. 74 minutes into the match, Somerset's Casper Epps sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mitch Samuels narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute Winston Matthews shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Russo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Somerset's goalkeeper Alfred Russo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clark Hess. The audience thought a goal was coming when Winston Matthews got free with Alfred Russo in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After recieving a nice pass, Mechanicville's Daryl Hawkins tried to score from far away in the 97th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The Mechanicville players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
