The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tanio Lezaeta hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Talcampeón FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gonza Abendano was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Empate's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Gonza Abendano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Talcampeón FC's Carlos Alberto Villa did a great save. Apolo Larrañaga kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 7thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Deportivo Empate's keeper Cordairo Abad was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Talcampeón FC were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Deportivo Empate's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eladio Sarmiento took the corner. When Adolfo Halat came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Talcampeón FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Halat couldn't finish the play. After 19 played minutes Deportivo Empate got a freekick which was hit by Donostia Abar. A collision led to Talcampeón FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Tanio Lezaeta hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Amador Abenda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vicente Abecia hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Tanio Lezaeta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cordairo Abad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Deportivo Empate booed when Talcampeón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damario Ferrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Magdaleno Abello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Empate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Talcampeón FC the free kick. After 29 played minutes Deportivo Empate got a freekick which was hit by Magdaleno Abello. A hard shot by José Francisco Maffey from long distance, 30 minutes into the match, got Cordairo Abad's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Xavon Abellaneda fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Empate's protests and gave Xavon Abellaneda a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Deportivo Empate getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Xavon Abellaneda hit a great ball. Cordairo Abad made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Tanio Lezaeta sent off a good shot on target. Talcampeón FC's Tanio Lezaeta got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tanio Lezaeta made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Tanio Lezaeta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cordairo Abad was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amador Abenda kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Adolfo Halat charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adolfo Halat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Talcampeón FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Adolfo Halat hit a great ball. Tanio Lezaeta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Deportivo Empate's Cordairo Abad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Halat in the 64th minute of play. The supporters of Talcampeón FC booed when Deportivo Empate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amador Abenda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes of play, Talcampeón FC's Tanio Lezaeta made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cordairo Abad was left in no man's land by his defense there! 74 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Villa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xavon Abellaneda. In the 75th minute Apolo Larrañaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cordairo Abad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deportivo Empate's Gustavo-Hernán Torrico shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 85th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Carlos Alberto Villa but with some difficulty. Carlos Alberto Villa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Abecia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Talcampeón FC's Carlos Alberto Villa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Talcampeón FC from getting a goal against them. Deportivo Empate's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
