In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Patoruzu's goalkeeper Waldo Hills, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30thth minute of the game Pedro Pedro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Emanuel Bazinet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Antoine Norton recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Waldo Hills. Antoine Norton showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Emilio Hankins got a free kick in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Atletico Patoruzu's Marcelo Marcello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Bazinet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Atletico Patoruzu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldo Hills should have stopped the shot. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Dominic Hahn was substituted for Patrik Cane. The supporters of Sport Lisboa e Benfica booed when Atletico Patoruzu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyrell Cochran didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Antoine Norton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldo Hills was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0.
