After 41 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Martiarena. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Intimos de Reynoso's Gartzen Braña seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gartzen Braña the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Intimos de Reynoso protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gartzen Braña had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Intimos de Reynoso's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Marraccini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Aníbal Marraccini kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Milio Cuero. That made the score 2-4 in the 92 minute of play. Milio Cuero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Marraccini, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the match was over AFC Richmond could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Intimos de Reynoso throughout the match.
