Burni Tornamira's late challenge caught a Varennes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Burni Tornamira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 2nd minute, Burni Tornamira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 4 minutes of play Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s Burni Tornamira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 4 played minutes Deportivo Alianza Lima. got a freekick which was hit by Burni Tornamira. Israel Yanes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brice Leach read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Salvador Valera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Salvador Valera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brice Leach having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ellsworth Lindsay in the 16th minute of play forced Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s goalkeeper Dorio Villagomez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes Deportivo Alianza Lima. got a freekick which was hit by Baristo Balbin. Dorio Villagomez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ellsworth Lindsay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Randell McCullough was slow to take the kick. During this time Varennes's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Varennes's corner Randell McCullough fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dorio Villagomez quite easily take care of the ball. Brice Leach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Israel Yanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Ellsworth Lindsay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dorio Villagomez. Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ellsworth Lindsay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Loic Deal during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 played minutes Varennes got a freekick which was hit by Loic Deal. Ramon Sotomayor's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Brice Leach firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ramon Sotomayor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brice Leach having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s Ramon Sotomayor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brice Leach narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 43 played minutes Deportivo Alianza Lima. got a freekick which was hit by Baristo Balbin. Ellsworth Lindsay scored 0-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dorio Villagomez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Salvador Valera made a kick off. Salvador Valera struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Brice Leach didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Alianza Lima.. In the 55th minute, Ramon Sotomayor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sengrat Sañudo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Loic Deal took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dorio Villagomez. Dorio Villagomez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 66th minute, Gale Laliberté got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s Juanito Aguirol was substituted for Israel Yanes. 73 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Sotomayor came free, but Brice Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Alianza Lima.'s Juanito Aguirol got a free kick in the 74th minute. Gale Laliberté struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Dorio Villagomez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varennes. After some careless play in the Varennes defense, Salvador Valera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brice Leach. The Varennes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brice Leach should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd minute Sengrat Sañudo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brice Leach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
