A collision led to Kalatakaya F.C. getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Fernandez Abeitia hit a great ball. The supporters of Kalatakaya F.C. booed when Astillero del Guayas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Landeras didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ulizes Sola fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Astillero del Guayas's protests and gave Ulizes Sola a yellow card for diving instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Américo Díaz in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Huarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the match, Kalatakaya F.C.'s goalkeeper Luis Ibarra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulizes Sola. The audience was convinced that Américo Díaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walter Huarte was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Pablo-Enrique Oneca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Luis Ibarra made a huge save. Zarando Eguizabal hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Américo Díaz in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walter Huarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Díaz came free, but Walter Huarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Américo Díaz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Walter Huarte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kalatakaya F.C.'s Luis Ibarra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Kalatakaya F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute of the match, Zarando Eguizabal got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luis Ibarra was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 28th minute Kalatakaya F.C. were awarded a corner. Fernandez Abeitia went to the cornerflag to take it. Luis Ibarra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulizes Sola in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the Astillero del Guayas defense, Américo Díaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Huarte. The Astillero del Guayas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Huarte should have stopped the shot. In the 41st match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marques Martin to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute Américo Díaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Huarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Astillero del Guayas's Walter Huarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Díaz in the 46th minute of play. Luis Ibarra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulizes Sola, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Kalatakaya F.C. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Américo Díaz made a kick off. Aaron Abascal kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Kalatakaya F.C.'s Gustavo Fernández seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gustavo Fernández the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Kalatakaya F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gustavo Fernández had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kalatakaya F.C.! Ulizes Sola placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 56 minutes into the game, Ulizes Sola cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Luis Ibarra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Alonzo Cabello got a free kick in the 68th minute. Alessandro Abajas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Walter Huarte made a huge save. After 74 played minutes Kalatakaya F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Rea. In the 76th match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulizes Sola to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Kalatakaya F.C. booed when Astillero del Guayas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hakkı Deniz Bedi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Fernandez Abeitia sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Astillero del Guayas's Walter Huarte didn't even have to move. 80 minutes into the match, Javier Landeras notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Kalatakaya F.C.'s Luis Ibarra. Luis Ibarra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Ruperto Ufret got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Luis Ibarra came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Astillero del Guayas's Dani Galiana. But to his dismay, Dani Galiana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 89th minute, Alessandro Abajas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute, Zarando Eguizabal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Astillero del Guayas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2.
