Chigüires De Mogadiscio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giuseppe Meazza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Chigüires De Mogadiscio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Viegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Detmer in the 12th minute of play forced Chigüires De Mogadiscio's goalkeeper Roger Garavito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Juan Luis Dittborn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roger Garavito was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 21 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper José Ignacio Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victor Angosto. Steve Vaid scored 0-4 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roger Garavito, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steve Vaid in the 25th minute of play forced Chigüires De Mogadiscio's goalkeeper Roger Garavito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Juan Luis Dittborn made a precise shot to the right of Roger Garavito. Chigüires De Mogadiscio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Luis Dittborn in the 32nd minute of play forced Chigüires De Mogadiscio's goalkeeper Roger Garavito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roger Garavito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steve Vaid in the 36th minute of play. Victor Angosto might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Ignacio Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Angosto ran back to his position shaking his head. José Ignacio Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Angosto in the 38th minute of play. Steve Vaid took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roger Garavito. Roger Garavito dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Erramu Huera kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-7 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juan Luis Dittborn made a kick off. Roger Garavito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Luis Dittborn in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the game, Steve Vaid recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roger Garavito. Steve Vaid showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. After 59 minutes of play, Chigüires De Mogadiscio's Feliciano Cedron made it 1-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Ignacio Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mamiek Sudaryono received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. José Ignacio Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Garavito was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Juan Luis Alfaro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-9 in the 69 minute of play. Erramu Huera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. José Ignacio Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Garavito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Vaid in the 80th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Angosto in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Ignacio Rocha prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
