Spectators: 173 (Terracing: 130, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rodney Urbina kicked off to start the match. Miguel Ángel Santoro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan José J.J. in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute, Juan José J.J. got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan José J.J. got free with Miguel Ángel Santoro in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan José J.J. in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miguel Ángel Santoro saved C. A. Independiente from getting behind. Manos Manteca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrad Carrington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U. de Tarapacá's Manos Manteca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrad Carrington in the 14th minute of play. When Juan José J.J. came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the U. de Tarapacá fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan José J.J. couldn't finish the play. Paco Raab kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Miguel Ángel Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan José J.J., even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrad Carrington in the 26th minute of play forced U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Manos Manteca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C. A. Independiente's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Juan José J.J. scored to the left of an out of position Miguel Ángel Santoro, making the score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrad Carrington in the 33rd minute of play forced U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Manos Manteca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Ángel Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan José J.J., who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. U. de Tarapacá's Paco Raab managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pedro Monzón in the 40 minute of the game. Juan José J.J. recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Juan José J.J. made the kick off in the second half. Juan José J.J. struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Miguel Ángel Santoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U. de Tarapacá. After having played for 64 minutes, Juan José J.J. managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U. de Tarapacá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan José J.J. was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Juan José J.J. came free, but Miguel Ángel Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guy Becerra made in the 73rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by U. de Tarapacá's Paco Raab. Juan José J.J. struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Miguel Ángel Santoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U. de Tarapacá. In the 77th minute, Juan José J.J. made a precise shot to the right of Miguel Ángel Santoro. C. A. Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 81 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Manos Manteca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodney Urbina. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Conrad Carrington in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manos Manteca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 91 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Juan José J.J. came free, but Miguel Ángel Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Manos Manteca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilbert Guzman. The corner went over the outstretched arms of U. de Tarapacá's goalie and right to Gregg Hannah. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. U. de Tarapacá's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. U. de Tarapacá were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of C. A. Independiente for a fine match.
