U. de Tarapacá's Sezen Taşkın got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, U. de Tarapacá's Manos Manteca got control of the ball when Federico Vilchez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The throw-in from Mićo Grande in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U. de Tarapacá's Paco Raab. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan José J.J. in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orlando Cordoba saved SAPRIMECKBEL from getting behind. If Juan José J.J. had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. SAPRIMECKBEL's Orlando Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan José J.J. in the 23rd minute of play. Orlando Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan José J.J. in the 33rd minute of the match. Orlando Cordoba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alonso Venturino went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan José J.J. in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Cordoba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Juan José J.J. recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan José J.J. was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to U. de Tarapacá getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Sezen Taşkın hit a great ball. Orlando Cordoba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan José J.J.'s shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After 59 minutes, Bernardo Saborio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SAPRIMECKBEL and the U. de Tarapacá players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of U. de Tarapacá booed when SAPRIMECKBEL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Saborio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan José J.J., even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U. de Tarapacá's Lautaro Bafalluy quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mićo Grande, made in the 64th minute of the game. Orlando Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan José J.J., who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. U. de Tarapacá's Sezen Taşkın got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orlando Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan José J.J. in the 76th minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Juan José J.J. managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U. de Tarapacá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan José J.J. was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manos Manteca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Araya in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Guillermo Araya made a precise shot to the right of Manos Manteca. U. de Tarapacá's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.
