In the 37th minute, Rogelio Luco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edinho Lira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hipolito Tiso during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. TZILACATZIN's Edu das Neves was substituted for Hipolito Tiso. Hipolito Tiso hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Dante Baros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Altermundi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dante Baros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 66th minute Daniel Cabrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ysmael Alemparte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Altermundi FC made a substitution. Alberto Tassara replaced Rómulo Jaramillo. In the 69th minute of the game Fabricio Peragallo made a throw-in which Pío Ducoing played forward. If Homero Thomson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Altermundi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dante Baros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Altermundi FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
