Spectators: 175 (Terracing: 132, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Degerfors IF's Tuncay Cansever started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th match minute, Degerfors IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tuncay Cansever to maneuver through the defense. Thierry Henry could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Håkan Söderberg made a huge save. Nils-Åke Simonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tuncay Cansever in the 15th minute of play. After 21 played minutes Pihl United got a freekick which was hit by Thierry Henry. In the 22ndth minute of the game Tuncay Cansever who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pihl United's Nils-Åke Simonsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thierry Henry hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Tuncay Cansever blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nils-Åke Simonsson having to make a save. Nils-Åke Simonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuncay Cansever, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tuncay Cansever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pihl United's goalkeeper Nils-Åke Simonsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nils-Åke Simonsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuncay Cansever, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Degerfors IF's Tuncay Cansever managed to work through Pihl United's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Tuncay Cansever dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Håkan Söderberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Söderquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nils-Åke Simonsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tuncay Cansever in the 38th minute of play. Anton Gallberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Håkan Söderberg made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Tuncay Cansever's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils-Åke Simonsson was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuncay Cansever in the 56th minute of play forced Pihl United's goalkeeper Nils-Åke Simonsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nils-Åke Simonsson made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Tuncay Cansever sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Degerfors IF getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Tomas Kråk hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Witold Serwacki notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Pihl United's Nils-Åke Simonsson. Nils-Åke Simonsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuncay Cansever in the 76th minute of play forced Pihl United's goalkeeper Nils-Åke Simonsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nils-Åke Simonsson was a little too slow when Tuncay Cansever got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-2. A collision led to Pihl United getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Anton Gallberg hit a great ball. In the 85th minute Karl-Johan Billock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håkan Söderberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Håkan Söderberg came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Pihl United's Joakim Näver. But to his dismay, Joakim Näver quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 96 minutes, Tuncay Cansever mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Degerfors IF and the Pihl United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute, Tuncay Cansever hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Degerfors IF players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Pihl United from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
