The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Pavel Cezar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernest Mortu. Scheia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pavel Cezar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, FC Buciumii's Costică Porumboiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernest Mortu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ernest Mortu came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Buciumii's Pavel Cezar. But to his dismay, Pavel Cezar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viorel Aluneanu during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th minute, Viorel Aluneanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Scheia's goal looked a bit too open when Costică Porumboiu came free, but Ernest Mortu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernest Mortu came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Buciumii's Pavel Cezar. But to his dismay, Pavel Cezar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Pavel Cezar scored 0-7 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ernest Mortu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irinel Plopeanu in the 31st minute of play forced Scheia's goalkeeper Ernest Mortu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Scheia's Ernest Mortu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costică Porumboiu in the 32nd minute of play. If Traian Vâtcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernest Mortu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costică Porumboiu in the 38th minute of the match. Ernest Mortu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Vâtcă, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Scheia's Ernest Mortu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Giubelean in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irinel Plopeanu in the 47th minute of play forced Scheia's goalkeeper Ernest Mortu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-7 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pavel Cezar was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Scheia's Ernest Mortu got control of the ball when Costică Porumboiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Scheia's goalkeeper Ernest Mortu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Traian Vâtcă. After a rather tough play, Scheia's Avram Zăvoiu got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Costică Porumboiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Costică Porumboiu got free with Ernest Mortu in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Scheia's goalkeeper Ernest Mortu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Scheia's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Vâtcă came free, but Ernest Mortu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Laurențiu Taşcău cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Ernest Mortu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
