After a rather tough play, Granicerul's Codrin Olaru got a free kick in the 19th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vintilă Hălmăgeanu in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octavian Bebeșel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cormoranii -MM-'s Vintilă Hălmăgeanu, in the 25th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Cormoranii -MM-. Octavian Bebeșel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusebiu Godeanu in the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Granicerul's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bobby Fischer was slow to take the kick. During this time Cormoranii -MM-'s players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Cormoranii -MM-'s corner Bobby Fischer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Octavian Bebeșel quite easily take care of the ball. Petru Stoiculescu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the game, one of Cormoranii -MM-:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Granicerul. Laurențiu Ciociu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dino Zoff. 0-2. Octavian Bebeșel made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Vintilă Hălmăgeanu sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Cormoranii -MM-'s Costel Diaconu got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Emanuel Maftei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Vintilă Hălmăgeanu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Octavian Bebeșel. That made the score 1-2 in the 47 minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Codrin Olaru was the one to do the kick off. Granicerul's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laurențiu Ciociu in the 53rd minute. The corner ended in 柯坤寒 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cormoranii -MM-'s Dino Zoff did a great save. After 59 minutes Granicerul's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bobby Fischer who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Cormoranii -MM-'s corner Bobby Fischer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Octavian Bebeșel quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Codrin Olaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granicerul's supporters rose to their feet, but Codrin Olaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dino Zoff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 65 minutes into the match, Cormoranii -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Eusebiu Ianculescu came free, but Dino Zoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laurențiu Ciociu struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Dino Zoff didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granicerul. 70 minutes into the match, Cormoranii -MM-'s goalkeeper Dino Zoff had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manole Colin. Dino Zoff made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Remus Pinczewski sent off a good shot on target. Dino Zoff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Ianculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remus Pinczewski's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dino Zoff firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 79th minute, Manole Colin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 minutes, Eusebiu Godeanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cormoranii -MM- and the Granicerul players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 96 minutes, Vintilă Hălmăgeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cormoranii -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Vintilă Hălmăgeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
