The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Granicerul's Paul Uduleanu got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Manole Colin's late challenge caught a Fc S.Zaharesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manole Colin helped the player get up and apologised. Manole Colin hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Valeriu Uduleanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute Eusebiu Ianculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Noica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Granicerul's zone, Viorel Lelescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Bebeșel came out of the goal and Viorel Lelescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute, Cristi Găină hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute Marius Encioiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Bebeșel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 1-0 became the score in the 22nd minute when Eusebiu Ianculescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 28 played minutes Granicerul got a freekick which was hit by Codrin Olaru. When Mădălin Vintilescu came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Fc S.Zaharesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mădălin Vintilescu couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Eusebiu Ianculescu took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Marcel Noica to make any attempt to save it. In the 37th minute Mădălin Vintilescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Bebeșel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Fc S.Zaharesti getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Viorel Lelescu hit a great ball. When Eusebiu Ianculescu came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Granicerul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebiu Ianculescu couldn't finish the play. Valeriu Uduleanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcel Noica read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mădălin Vintilescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Eusebiu Ianculescu came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Granicerul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebiu Ianculescu couldn't finish the play. Marcel Noica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codrin Olaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Nicu Şandru kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. A collision led to Fc S.Zaharesti getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Nicu Şandru hit a great ball. Fc S.Zaharesti's Marcel Noica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Ianculescu in the 60th minute of play. After some careless play in the Fc S.Zaharesti defense, Codrin Olaru kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Noica. The Fc S.Zaharesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Noica should have stopped the shot. The Granicerul fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Granicerul's Valeriu Uduleanu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebiu Ianculescu in the 72nd minute of play forced Fc S.Zaharesti's goalkeeper Marcel Noica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th match minute, Granicerul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olimpiu Zdrenghea to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the game, Laurențiu Ciociu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Marcel Noica was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Codrin Olaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Fc S.Zaharesti getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Viorel Lelescu hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, Fc S.Zaharesti's goal looked a bit too open when Codrin Olaru came free, but Marcel Noica reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Granicerul were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Fc S.Zaharesti for a fine match.
