Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) FC Politehnica Timisoara's Aristide Hălmăgeanu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aristide Hălmăgeanu got free with Nicu Arghirescu in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Emanuel Strugure took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Nicu Arghirescu to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 12 minutes, Augustin Horea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Sportiv Medgidia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augustin Horea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicu Arghirescu was a little too slow when Emanuel Strugure got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 2-0. Club Sportiv Medgidia's Nicu Arghirescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sportiv Medgidia from getting a goal against them. Romeo Ungur hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Aristide Hălmăgeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Politehnica Timisoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristide Hălmăgeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Club Sportiv Medgidia's Nicu Arghirescu got control of the ball when Cosmin Aluchei tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Sportiv Medgidia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Emanuel Strugure scored to the left of an out of position Nicu Arghirescu, making the score, 4-0. Cosmin Aluchei took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicu Arghirescu. Nicu Arghirescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Nicu Arghirescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Udup in the 54th minute of the match. Aurelian Şantău kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augustin Horea got free with Tiberiu Mischie in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gică Botescu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 62 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Politehnica Timisoara's zone, Sebastian Matei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiberiu Mischie came out of the goal and Sebastian Matei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eric Udup fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Arghirescu having to interfere. Aristide Hălmăgeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Nicu Arghirescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Eric Udup got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute of the match Sebastian Matei sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiberiu Mischie skillfully saved the ball. In the 82nd minute, Cosmin Aluchei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicu Arghirescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristide Hălmăgeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute Aristide Hălmăgeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicu Arghirescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicu Arghirescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristide Hălmăgeanu in the 97th minute of play. After 99 minutes Club Sportiv Medgidia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eric Udup who took care of the corner kick. The corner led FC Politehnica Timisoara's Romeo Chiriac to fire away a dangerous shot which Nicu Arghirescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
