A well-hit corner resulted in Alexandru Budișteanu heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vali Ghițulescu during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francisc Ghionescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 34 minutes, Claudiu Becheanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Valar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudiu Becheanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Olimpiu Postelnicescu scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Codruț Tuleiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the game, Sandu Tudor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Valar the free kick. In the 46th match minute, F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Tudor to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ilie Balaci to make the kick off. Olimpiu Postelnicescu hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, Olimpiu Postelnicescu made a precise shot to the right of Codruț Tuleiu. F.C.
