Ionică Costăchescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Valar's Dan Ghițescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cao Yi in the 8th minute of play. When Olimpiu Postelnicescu fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Valar's protests and gave Olimpiu Postelnicescu a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, The Valar's Olimpiu Postelnicescu got a free kick in the 11th minute. With a little luck, The Valar's Dan Ghițescu got control of the ball when Mao Chen Wei tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, DINAMO PLOIESTI's Ionică Costăchescu got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Mao Chen Wei dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dan Ghițescu, 1-0. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the game, Petrică Paraschiv recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dan Ghițescu. Petrică Paraschiv showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When The Valar's Claudiu Becheanu in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DINAMO PLOIESTI's goalie prevented a goal. Gelu Galușcă came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by The Valar's Sorin Răduța. But to his dismay, Sorin Răduța quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Savu in the 44th minute of play forced DINAMO PLOIESTI's goalkeeper Gelu Galușcă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mao Chen Wei to strike the kick off in the second half. Dan Ghițescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mao Chen Wei, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Mao Chen Wei's late challenge caught a The Valar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mao Chen Wei helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, DINAMO PLOIESTI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mao Chen Wei to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute Ionică Costăchescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Ghițescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute of the match Ionică Costăchescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Ghițescu skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorel Joja during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 68 minutes into the game, DINAMO PLOIESTI's Cao Yi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dan Ghițescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Dan Ghițescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mao Chen Wei in the 72nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in The Valar's zone, Mao Chen Wei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dan Ghițescu came out of the goal and Mao Chen Wei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dan Ghițescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ionică Costăchescu's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Ionică Costăchescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DINAMO PLOIESTI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Valar the free kick. A collision led to DINAMO PLOIESTI getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Ionică Costăchescu hit a great ball. Gelu Galușcă made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Sorin Răduța sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the The Valar defense, Sebastian Orășan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dan Ghițescu. The The Valar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dan Ghițescu should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the The Valar players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for DINAMO PLOIESTI.
