The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the game, Alfred Ryback was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MS Rybnik's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lech Max the free kick. Franciszek Wojtyna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Krzysztof Zyskowski in the 11th minute of play. Patryk Smolarek lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Boruc Siwek went to the wrong direction when Wojciech Ryback was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. MS Rybnik's Franciszek Wojtyna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krzysztof Zyskowski in the 17th minute of play. Leon Kostrzewski hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Boruc Siwek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wojciech Ryback, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 24 minutes, Wojciech Ryback mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MS Rybnik and the Lech Max players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wojciech Ryback kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. A collision led to MS Rybnik getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Adam Paraszczuk hit a great ball. Krzysztof Zyskowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Franciszek Wojtyna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, MS Rybnik's goal looked a bit too open when Krzysztof Zyskowski came free, but Franciszek Wojtyna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, Waclaw Hryc made a precise shot to the right of Boruc Siwek. Lech Max's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Franciszek Wojtyna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krzysztof Zyskowski in the 39th minute of the match. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Waclaw Hryc was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute Robert Zawadzki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franciszek Wojtyna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Lech Max booed when MS Rybnik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Paraszczuk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in MS Rybnik's zone, Radomil Andrysiak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franciszek Wojtyna came out of the goal and Radomil Andrysiak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Waclaw Hryc got free with Boruc Siwek in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Radomil Andrysiak hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, MS Rybnik's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Zawadzki came free, but Franciszek Wojtyna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Krzysztof Zyskowski took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Franciszek Wojtyna. Franciszek Wojtyna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.
