The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the The Tigers defense, Bastian Ytterstad kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zak Lloyd. The The Tigers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zak Lloyd should have stopped the shot. The Tigers's Zak Lloyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tor-Egil Arntsen in the 8th minute of play. When Brufoss IL's Kenneth Foldnes in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Olav Øverby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionuț Mureșan in the 22nd minute of play. Frazer Heath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Kenneth Foldnes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brufoss IL's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenneth Foldnes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zak Lloyd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zak Lloyd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jørund Nyhagen, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, The Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Bastian Ytterstad came free, but Zak Lloyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zak Lloyd stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tor-Egil Arntsen's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the match, Tor-Egil Arntsen notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of The Tigers's Zak Lloyd. Zak Lloyd was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Frazer Heath kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Kenneth Foldnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zak Lloyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zak Lloyd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastian Ytterstad in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Frazer Heath hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenneth Foldnes in the 46th minute of play forced The Tigers's goalkeeper Zak Lloyd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 minutes of play, The Tigers's Ionuț Mureșan made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olav Øverby was left in no man's land by his defense there! The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionuț Mureșan was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Brufoss IL booed when The Tigers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonatan Fredericksen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute Ionuț Mureșan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olav Øverby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arild Reppen charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arild Reppen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 71st minute, Arild Reppen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brufoss IL made a substitution. Karl Bergstrøm replaced Jon-Egil Grønli. The supporters of The Tigers booed when Brufoss IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arild Reppen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 minutes, Eilert Grønseth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brufoss IL and the The Tigers players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zak Lloyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Hægeland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ionuț Mureșan hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Olav Øverby came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by The Tigers's Gregory Rawson. But to his dismay, Gregory Rawson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Brufoss IL's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
