Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Halstensen in the 37th minute of the match. Gary Gowan kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Rangers FC from getting a goal against them. 47 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christian Halstensen. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Christian Halstensen made the kick off in the second half. Christian Halstensen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Angus Howison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Steffen Haukås's late challenge caught a Rangers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Steffen Haukås helped the player get up and apologised. With a little luck, Rakkestad IF's Kenneth Friis got control of the ball when Raymond Johnston tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute, Stevie McGilvray left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rangers FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Raymond Johnston fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Raymond Johnston a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Raymond Johnston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Angus Howison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeppe Benjaminsen during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeppe Benjaminsen hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Angus Howison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Halstensen in the 88th minute of play. Stevie McGilvray charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stevie McGilvray the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Linus Todal's late challenge caught a Rangers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Linus Todal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rangers FC booed when Rakkestad IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Linus Todal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angus Howison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
