Kipras Gelžinis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 27 played minutes Lithuanian amber got a freekick which was hit by Daugirdas Čižiūnas. After recieving a nice pass, AB Tårnby's Bobbi Elsted tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, AB Tårnby's goalkeeper Terkild Lukasen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eligijus Kavaliūnas. A collision led to Lithuanian amber getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Vytautas Alsys hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eligijus Kavaliūnas to make the kick off. Herman Sloots kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Thomas Lauridsens short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Kipras Gelžinis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, AB Tårnby's Alf Schlippe got a free kick in the 62nd minute. AB Tårnby's Terkild Lukasen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Naujokas in the 63rd minute of play. Kipras Gelžinis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thomas Lauridsen went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Terkild Lukasen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eligijus Kavaliūnas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Terkild Lukasen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eligijus Kavaliūnas in the 80th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remigijus Damijonas during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kipras Gelžinis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Lauridsen in the 92nd minute. After 92 minutes, Bengt Schouenborg mouthed his way into the referee's book.
