Mel Ecker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SC Otten getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Mel Ecker hit a great ball. Tyrell Springer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mirco Maier in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Hellmut Klasen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fatmir Zollt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olaf Lübke having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hellmut Klasen during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hellmut Klasen hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Olaf Lübke was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aage Schwabe. Tyrell Springer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mirco Maier in the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of SC Otten booed when KFC Uerdingen 05 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregor Reinauer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute Mel Ecker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrell Springer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Ole Radtke. Andy Michl lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in KFC Uerdingen 05 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Tyrell Springer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mel Ecker's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Otten's supporters rose to their feet, but Kartikeya von Gyldenfeldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tyrell Springer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to KFC Uerdingen 05 getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ole Radtke hit a great ball. SC Otten's Ronnie Schilder was substituted for Mel Ecker. If Frederik Vielmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Rudi Tenhagen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Tyrell Springer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederik Vielmann. In the 67th minute Rudi Tenhagen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrell Springer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute SC Otten were awarded a corner. Sargon Baek went to the cornerflag to take it. A well done corner resulted in Rudi Tenhagen drilling the ball in to score 1-2 behind KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper. In the 73rd match minute, KFC Uerdingen 05 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aage Schwabe to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 78 minutes, Frederik Vielmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Otten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frederik Vielmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute, Hansjörg Görlitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fatmir Zollt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronnie Schilder got free with Tyrell Springer in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Olaf Lübke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fatmir Zollt, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Tyrell Springer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronnie Schilder in the 87th minute.
