With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sigitas Ivoška in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juha Jokiranta saved Manchester United FC from getting behind. In the 4th minute, Ugnius Budnikas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gvidonas Jakimavičius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tero Haakana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manchester United FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Kęstutis Skersys scored to the left of an out of position Juha Jokiranta, making the score, 1-1. 17 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Juha Jokiranta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sigitas Ivoška. Juha Jokiranta was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sigitas Ivoška showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 21 minute of play. FK Mintis Vilnius's Ugnius Budnikas was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 35th minute, Tero Haakana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gvidonas Jakimavičius was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. Juha Jokiranta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kęstutis Skersys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juha Jokiranta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigitas Ivoška, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Kęstutis Skersys kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match.

The wind increased when Mustafa Juodis made the kick off in the second half. Sigitas Ivoška scored 4-4 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juha Jokiranta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vytenis Baltutis charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vytenis Baltutis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Manchester United FC booed when FK Mintis Vilnius was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vytenis Baltutis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Paavo Salmela made a precise shot to the right of Gvidonas Jakimavičius. FK Mintis Vilnius's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kuisma Kokkonen during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Manchester United FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Kuisma Kokkonen hit a great ball. Manchester United FC's Terho Ylimäki was substituted for Kuisma Kokkonen. After 65 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Kuisma Kokkonen. After 68 played minutes Paavo Salmela rounded FK Mintis Vilnius's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kęstutis Skersys in the 73rd minute of play forced Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Juha Jokiranta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Sigitas Ivoška had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juha Jokiranta. Manchester United FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sigitas Ivoška was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-6. In the 83rd minute, Paavo Salmela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gvidonas Jakimavičius was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-7. In the 93rd minute Kęstutis Skersys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juha Jokiranta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 played minutes FK Mintis Vilnius got a freekick which was hit by Juras Damaševicius. Manchester United FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
