The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Soares got free with Ross Armitage in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ross Armitage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Vaughan, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Ross Armitage made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Marcus Soares sent off a good shot on target. 13 minutes into the game, Dylon Rundle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Thomas Mitchell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 18 minutes into the match, Henley on Thames United's goalkeeper Ross Armitage had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcus Soares. The corner ended in Marcus Soares almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Henley on Thames United's Ross Armitage did a great save. Harchester United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tony Plumber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darren Vaughan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Seth Sugden's late challenge caught a Henley on Thames United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Seth Sugden helped the player get up and apologised. Seth Sugden kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ross Armitage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seth Sugden in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 98th minute, Lloyd Hotte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
