Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Enzo De Vecchis made the kick off which started today's match. Angelo Gizzi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mickael Pagias's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Mickael Pagias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Gizzi having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Bruno Ernst left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The R.C. Marseille fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Mickael Pagias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angelo Gizzi having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Bruno Ernst's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Angelo Gizzi was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Patrice Arlot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Angelo Gizzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mickael Pagias, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half R.C. Marseille were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Patrice Arlot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Angelo Gizzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelo Gizzi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bruno Ernst showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 53 minute of play. Mickael Pagias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bruno Ernst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th match minute, Sporting Club Sicilia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armin Polo to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Gizzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Ernst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 minutes Sporting Club Sicilia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Honoré Lottin who took care of the corner kick. Honoré Lottin made a great header on R.C. Marseille's corner, it was just that Sporting Club Sicilia's Angelo Gizzi managed to reach the ball for a save. 72 minutes into the game, Carter Vago was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting Club Sicilia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave R.C. Marseille the free kick. The supporters of R.C. Marseille booed when Sporting Club Sicilia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carter Vago didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Bruno Ernst managed to get in a good position for a shot. R.C. Marseille's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Ernst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Gizzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Bruno Ernst made a precise shot to the right of Angelo Gizzi. Sporting Club Sicilia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Club Sicilia's zone, Corentin Joye stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Gizzi came out of the goal and Corentin Joye tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mickael Pagias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelo Gizzi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Angelo Gizzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Ernst, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Corentin Joye's late challenge caught a Sporting Club Sicilia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corentin Joye helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 played minutes R.C. Marseille got a freekick which was hit by Corentin Joye.
