Petros Papaspyrou made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Mickael Pagias sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Ernst in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petros Papaspyrou prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute Bruno Ernst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petros Papaspyrou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Ernst in the 38th minute of play forced PicksBattle.com's goalkeeper Petros Papaspyrou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of PicksBattle.com booed when R.C. Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Ernst didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to R.C. Marseille getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Edgard Schaal hit a great ball. Patrice Arlot hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Ernst to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, PicksBattle.com's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Ernst came free, but Petros Papaspyrou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marseille's Félicien Boucard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save R.C. Marseille from getting a goal against them. Petros Papaspyrou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Ernst in the 80th minute of play. PicksBattle.com's Petros Papaspyrou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Ernst in the 86th minute of play. Errikos Nosis kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Petros Papaspyrou didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mickael Pagias went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.
