The coaching staff of BRAL VAL protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Frank Giammarino had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 22 minutes into the game, one of BRAL VAL:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in BRAL VAL's zone, Alex Limitone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferruccio Alfani came out of the goal and Alex Limitone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute Edmondo De Vito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferruccio Alfani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bar Marconi United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
