Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) ERGOTELIS's Vaggelis Tsigounakis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, ERGOTELIS's Panagiotis Kastanis got control of the ball when Manos Christodoulou tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 4th match minute, ERGOTELIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thymios Vourousis to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, ERGOTELIS's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Moustos came free, but Panagiotis Kastanis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manos Papaiakovou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Kontosoros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Periklis Vakalis hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Go Ahead Eagles's Manos Papaiakovou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vaggelis Tsigounakis in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panagiotis Bourousis in the 11th minute of play forced ERGOTELIS's goalkeeper Panagiotis Kastanis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Manos Christodoulou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Go Ahead Eagles booed when ERGOTELIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vaggelis Tsigounakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Christodoulos Vazakas put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Go Ahead Eagles fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Thymios Vourousis shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. A collision led to Go Ahead Eagles getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Panagiotis Bourousis hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the game, ERGOTELIS's Christos Dimitriadis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manos Papaiakovou made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Nikos Moustos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 31 minutes, Gerasimos Kallitsis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Go Ahead Eagles and the ERGOTELIS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ERGOTELIS booed when Go Ahead Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerasimos Kallitsis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, ERGOTELIS's goalkeeper Panagiotis Kastanis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nikos Moustos. After the first half ERGOTELIS were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Nikos Moustos made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Go Ahead Eagles getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Giotis Kouloucheris hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in ERGOTELIS's zone, Nikos Moustos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Panagiotis Kastanis came out of the goal and Nikos Moustos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Giotis Kouloucheris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ERGOTELIS's Panagiotis Kastanis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manos Christodoulou in the 63rd minute of play. Thymios Vourousis hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Go Ahead Eagles's Ntinos Vounatsos got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manos Christodoulou struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Panagiotis Kastanis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Go Ahead Eagles. When Manos Christodoulou came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Go Ahead Eagles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manos Christodoulou couldn't finish the play. Manos Christodoulou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Panagiotis Kastanis having to interfere. Giotis Kouloucheris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, ERGOTELIS's Vaggelis Tsigounakis got a free kick in the 85th minute. Giotis Kouloucheris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Panagiotis Kastanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Krasakis came free, but Manos Papaiakovou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Giotis Kouloucheris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ERGOTELIS eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
