After a rather tough play, La Pointe Courte's Greg Santoro got a free kick in the 12th minute. The audience was convinced that Francis Ponchel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sabri Fouquet was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the game, John Holmes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Žydrūnas Danielius was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrien Cariou during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, FC Saubrigues was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrien Cariou to maneuver through the defense. Morgan Guignard kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. FC Saubrigues's Žydrūnas Danielius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yann Scott in the 35th minute of play. Thibaut Mazieres might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Žydrūnas Danielius. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thibaut Mazieres ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Yann Scott sped through FC Saubrigues's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Žydrūnas Danielius. Žydrūnas Danielius came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by La Pointe Courte's Yann Scott. But to his dismay, Yann Scott quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After the first half La Pointe Courte were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yann Scott to make the kick off. Žydrūnas Danielius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Holmes in the 56th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Jules Cointe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabri Fouquet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th match minute, La Pointe Courte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Éric Di Meo to maneuver through the defense. Adrien Cariou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabri Fouquet having to interfere. Yann Scott who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Žydrūnas Danielius when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 75 minutes, Morgan Guignard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Saubrigues and the La Pointe Courte players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of La Pointe Courte booed when FC Saubrigues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Morgan Guignard didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Morgan Guignard was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 77 minutes had been played. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Saubrigues's goalkeeper Žydrūnas Danielius, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, FC Saubrigues's goal looked a bit too open when John Holmes came free, but Žydrūnas Danielius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yann Scott could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Žydrūnas Danielius made a huge save. John Holmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Žydrūnas Danielius having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Saubrigues's Alphonse Keita got a free kick in the 86th minute. La Pointe Courte's John Holmes got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Francis Ponchel fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Saubrigues's protests and gave Francis Ponchel a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes FC Saubrigues got a freekick which was hit by Francis Ponchel. Žydrūnas Danielius made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Yann Scott sent off a good shot on target. Mathys Guigon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Žydrūnas Danielius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The FC Saubrigues fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. La Pointe Courte were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
