The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petros Giannakis in the 11th minute of play forced tHe SOnS of rAGnar's goalkeeper Stavros Kabantais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 minutes, Theofilos Zaninos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the tHe SOnS of rAGnar and the ΠΑΟΚ FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute Kostas Triantopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stavros Kabantais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petros Giannakis couldn't finish the play. The coaching staff of tHe SOnS of rAGnar protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Stratos Lagonikakis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 33 minutes into the game, one of tHe SOnS of rAGnar:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. tHe SOnS of rAGnar:s Stavros Kabantais showed great skill when he stopped Thomas Papagiotopoulos:s penalty. After a rather tough play, tHe SOnS of rAGnar's Theofilos Zaninos got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 46 minutes into the game, Kostas Triantopoulos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ΠΑΟΚ FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave tHe SOnS of rAGnar the free kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Niko Willams made a kick off. Ilias Peristeropoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theofilos Zaninos in the 52nd minute of play. Thomas Papagiotopoulos's late challenge caught a tHe SOnS of rAGnar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomas Papagiotopoulos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of tHe SOnS of rAGnar booed when ΠΑΟΚ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Papagiotopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th match minute, ΠΑΟΚ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panos Mastrantoniou to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as ΠΑΟΚ FC's Thrasivoulos Moisiadis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Stavros Kabantais. That made the score 1-2 after 69 minutes of play. After having played for 72 minutes, Petros Giannakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΠΑΟΚ FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petros Giannakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chrisostomos Bourdas hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Stavros Symeonatos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stavros Kabantais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ilias Peristeropoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theofilos Zaninos in the 83rd minute of play.
