Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlo Mandelli started the match with the kick off. Alberto Giorda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Arioli in the 4th minute of play. A collision led to Cacciola getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Fausto Santangelo hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flavio Corvi during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 played minutes Merceron United got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Corvi. Concetto Nicolo lost his temper 11 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Concetto Nicolo kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Fortunato Pelliccia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cacciola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Flavio Corvi hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Alberto Giorda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniele Arioli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Giorda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Del Giudice, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After the first half Cacciola were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cacciola's Achille Scacchi got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 56 in the game by Daniele Arioli from a close distance when the talented Alberto Giorda managed to make a qualified save. Merceron United's players were relieved. In the 58th match minute, Cacciola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Santangelo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Gelsomini in the 60th minute of play forced Cacciola's goalkeeper Emiliano Troilo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Carlo Del Giudice took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Alberto Giorda to make any attempt to save it. Cacciola's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
