Spectators: 205 (Terracing: 154, Seating: 47, VIP seats: 4) A sloppy throw-in by Oliver Hardy in the 3rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Valencia C.F.'s Fran Pérez. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franco Fava got free with Andoni Zubizarreta in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andoni Zubizarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco Fava, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 13 played minutes Seggiano got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Hardy. Andoni Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Pardini in the 20th minute of the match. Andoni Zubizarreta made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Augusto Pardini sent off a good shot on target. David Silva hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Florentin Gougeon made a precise shot to the right of Alvise Castellazzi. Seggiano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Andoni Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Pardini in the 33rd minute of the match. Alvise Castellazzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florentin Gougeon, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Oliver Hardy hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, one of Seggiano:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Seggiano. After the first half Valencia C.F. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Augusto Pardini to make the kick off. After 61 played minutes Valencia C.F. got a freekick which was hit by Nino Jeanneret. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nino Jeanneret during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Valencia C.F.'s Nino Jeanneret got a free kick in the 64th minute. Domenico Corsi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Andoni Zubizarreta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Seggiano's goal looked a bit too open when Florentin Gougeon came free, but Alvise Castellazzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oliver Hardy kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Pardini in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andoni Zubizarreta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andoni Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Pardini in the 93rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Valencia C.F.'s Florentin Gougeon got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Franco Fava took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Andoni Zubizarreta. Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Valencia C.F.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
