In the 3rd minute Leandro Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Segura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivón Barroso in the 20th minute of play forced Lima Team's goalkeeper Paulo Fagundes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Honorato Amaral kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eriberto Segura. That made the score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Honorato Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eriberto Segura was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. If Honorato Gameiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
