An unexpectedly hard shot by Renato Alves in the 12th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Eneas Toxeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eneas Toxeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervásio Anjos in the 17th minute of play. When Arthur Branco came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the AD Pontassolense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Branco couldn't finish the play. After 21 minutes, Nel Benítez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boca Juniors and the AD Pontassolense players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nel Benítez hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Afonso Castanheira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Zurica, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Renato Alves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eneas Toxeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eneas Toxeiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renato Alves's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 29th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilfredo Huarte to maneuver through the defense. Nel Benítez hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Branco in the 42nd minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Eneas Toxeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lorenzo Zurica to make the kick off. Gabriel Andrade hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Boca Juniors's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Arthur Branco scored to the left of an out of position Eneas Toxeiro, making the score, 2-2. Afonso Castanheira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Zurica in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Santos in the 63rd minute of play forced AD Pontassolense's goalkeeper Afonso Castanheira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute Luis Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Castanheira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 91 minutes into the game, when Vergaray Jaraba put in a rough tackle. After 91 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Vergaray Jaraba. In the 92nd minute, Álvaro Carvalho fired a really elegant long shot, but Eneas Toxeiro threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 96th minute Fernando Portela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eneas Toxeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AD Pontassolense's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
