Hilário Borba was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hugo Carballido showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Hugo Carballido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Hilário Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the last second Hilário Borba throw himself and got hold of the ball when Pepe Veloso in the 9thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gremio Viana's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Costel Eta was slow to take the kick. During this time Sobrecastell UD's players had a chance to rest. Raimundo Garin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolau Soeiro in the 11th minute of the match. Nicolau Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Hugo Carballido could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Hilário Borba made a huge save. In the 16th minute of the match Sobrecastell UD got a corner. Gremio Viana's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Costel Eta ran over to the corner to take the kick. 20 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Hilário Borba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Carballido. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when Sobrecastell UD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Cabezas didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolau Soeiro in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raimundo Garin saved Sobrecastell UD from getting behind. Gremio Viana's Despot Majetić got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hilário Borba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Carballido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Gremio Viana getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Aparício Taborda hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the game, Aparício Taborda threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sobrecastell UD's Hassan Galnares quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Carballido got free with Hilário Borba in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when Sobrecastell UD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pepe Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hugo Carballido to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Costel Eta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilário Borba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Costel Eta came free, but Hilário Borba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Hugo Carballido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Sobrecastell UD's goalkeeper Raimundo Garin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolau Soeiro. 66 minutes into the match, Nicolau Soeiro notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sobrecastell UD's Raimundo Garin. Raimundo Garin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sobrecastell UD's Raimundo Garin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Sobrecastell UD from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Normando Barcelos to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Pepe Veloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Despot Majetić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
