After having played for 4 minutes, Eusébio Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte do Carro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7th minute Mateus Quaresma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Calçada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jesualdo Soveral kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes Minho FC got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Lamego. In the 13th match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Ponte to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio Leão in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Calçada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 17 minutes of play, Ponte do Carro's Eusébio Leão made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jairo Calçada was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 20 played minutes Minho FC got a freekick which was hit by Heitor Seixas. Heitor Horta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Varela in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Altino Guerreiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponte do Carro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minho FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ponte do Carro's Altino Guerreiro got a free kick in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vilas Boas in the 32nd minute of play forced Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Heitor Horta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heitor Horta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Bulhosa's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Jairo Calçada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mateus Quaresma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ponte do Carro's zone, Xavier Lamego stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heitor Horta came out of the goal and Xavier Lamego tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusébio Leão made a kick off. Jairo Calçada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Lucena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heitor Horta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Varela in the 54th minute of the match. Nuno Sanches's late challenge caught a Minho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nuno Sanches helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Ponte do Carro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Assunção to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Ponte do Carro's Jairo Calçada threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eusébio Leão, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Emanuel Barata hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. When Ponte do Carro's Altino Guerreiro in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Minho FC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Altino Guerreiro got free with Jairo Calçada in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th minute Ponte do Carro were awarded a corner. Alexandre Lucena went to the cornerflag to take it. Alexandre Lucena made a great header on Ponte do Carro's corner, it was just that Minho FC's Jairo Calçada managed to reach the ball for a save. After 80 played minutes Ponte do Carro got a freekick which was hit by Altino Guerreiro. Jairo Calçada made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Eusébio Leão sent off a good shot on target. Jairo Calçada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Lucena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Minho FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alexandre Lucena was slow to take the kick. During this time Ponte do Carro's players had a chance to rest. Ponte do Carro's Alexandre Lucena was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jairo Calçada in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vilas Boas in the 93rd minute of play forced Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Heitor Horta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute João Vilas Boas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Horta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ponte do Carro walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
