After a rather tough play, Campus Douro Academy's André Valente got a free kick in the 2nd minute. A collision led to GD Almargense getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Conor Bradley hit a great ball. Campus Douro Academy's Américo Palha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Valido in the 5th minute of play. After some careless play in the Campus Douro Academy defense, Vitor Roque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Américo Palha. The Campus Douro Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Américo Palha should have stopped the shot. 12 minutes into the match, GD Almargense's Vitor Roque sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Américo Palha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Américo Palha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitor Roque, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Américo Palha came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by GD Almargense's Vitor Roque. But to his dismay, Vitor Roque quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 20th minute Jerónimo Cortez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Américo Palha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abílio Aveiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Américo Ramires's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Valentín Gómez charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valentín Gómez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes GD Almargense got a freekick which was hit by Valentín Gómez. With a little luck, GD Almargense's Abílio Aveiro got control of the ball when Leal Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute Campus Douro Academy were awarded a corner. Manuel França went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Campus Douro Academy's Manuel França to fire away a dangerous shot which Abílio Aveiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 31 played minutes GD Almargense got a freekick which was hit by Conor Bradley. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Ramires in the 34th minute of play forced GD Almargense's goalkeeper Abílio Aveiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abílio Aveiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Américo Ramires in the 35th minute of the match. Américo Palha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitor Roque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abílio Aveiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel França in the 41st minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Manuel França got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Abílio Aveiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Campus Douro Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GD Almargense were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Leal Brito made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, GD Almargense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentín Gómez to maneuver through the defense. Américo Palha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Soeiro in the 54th minute of play. Abílio Aveiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel França in the 56th minute of play. Abílio Aveiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leal Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitor Roque in the 63rd minute of play forced Campus Douro Academy's goalkeeper Américo Palha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Campus Douro Academy booed when GD Almargense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Matanović didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Campus Douro Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Vitor Roque came free, but Américo Palha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Ramires in the 73rd minute of play forced GD Almargense's goalkeeper Abílio Aveiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Américo Palha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitor Roque in the 75th minute of the match. Campus Douro Academy's Manuel França got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Manuel França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Manuel França's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abílio Aveiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Campus Douro Academy's Manuel França nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abílio Aveiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The supporters of Campus Douro Academy booed when GD Almargense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentín Gómez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute of the match Manuel França sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abílio Aveiro skillfully saved the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
