The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bennie Anneese charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bennie Anneese the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Osdorp FC's Bennie Anneese got a free kick in the 4th minute. Adam de Reyck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijs Evenhuis in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute Evert Roelofs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam de Reyck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Osdorp FC's Bennie Anneese nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adam de Reyck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Adam de Reyck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert Roelofs in the 19th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Roelofs in the 21st minute of play forced Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Adam de Reyck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olavarria FC's Adam de Reyck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maarten Grol in the 23rd minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Olavarria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harold Reynders to maneuver through the defense. Adam de Reyck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bennie Anneese in the 31st minute of the match. After having played for 32 minutes, Evert Roelofs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Osdorp FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evert Roelofs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Osdorp FC's Evert Roelofs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adam de Reyck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harold Reynders to make the kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Gijs Evenhuis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olavarria FC's Adam de Reyck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Evert Roelofs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Noel Moerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Evert Roelofs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adam de Reyck. Olavarria FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evert Roelofs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Marnix Bouwens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Adam de Reyck made a huge save. Adam de Reyck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evert Roelofs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Herald Dujardin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olavarria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Herald Dujardin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pepijn Knol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute, Gijs Evenhuis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bennie Anneese could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Adam de Reyck made a huge save. Pepijn Knol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold Reynders, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Osdorp FC's Marnix Bouwens got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 94 minutes, Rogier Held mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Osdorp FC and the Olavarria FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Olavarria FC booed when Osdorp FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogier Held didn't get a good kick on the ball.
