The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Philip Zevenhuizen kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Hette van Dijk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Jan Sibon made a huge save. In the 10th minute Koos Staal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth van der Leegte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute Rinus Ronde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth van der Leegte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, De Ontembare Leeuwen's Jan Sibon got control of the ball when Hette van Dijk tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wouter Kluivert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Sibon having to make a save. Kenneth van der Leegte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Koos Staal in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute Mitchell Terpstra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth van der Leegte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jurre Van Loo struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Jan Sibon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Wissenkerke. In the 28th minute Rinus Ronde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth van der Leegte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Sibon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hette van Dijk in the 34th minute. After 37 played minutes De Ontembare Leeuwen got a freekick which was hit by Tonnie Nijsse. After having played for 44 minutes, Hette van Dijk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Wissenkerke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hette van Dijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hette van Dijk to strike the kick off in the second half. Jan Sibon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stef Mol, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. With a little luck, SV Wissenkerke's Kenneth van der Leegte got control of the ball when Rinus Ronde tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, SV Wissenkerke's Ralph Cramer got a free kick in the 60th minute. 74 minutes into the match, De Ontembare Leeuwen's goal looked a bit too open when Hette van Dijk came free, but Jan Sibon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kenneth van der Leegte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfred Tollenaar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sander Spoel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Kenneth van der Leegte made a huge save. In the 86th minute Koos Staal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth van der Leegte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 88 played minutes SV Wissenkerke got a freekick which was hit by Leendert Looze. 91 minutes into the game, Sander Spoel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kenneth van der Leegte. Sander Spoel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2.
