The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gerard Kok fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gianluigi Donnarumma having to interfere. The long shot by Ernest van der Laan in the 34th minute really tested Gianluigi Donnarumma's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Zijdewind SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ernest van der Laan in the 37th minute. The corner ended in Ernest van der Laan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pryaporets's Gianluigi Donnarumma did a great save. Gerard Kok who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Gianluigi Donnarumma when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 40 minutes into the game, Pryaporets's Zhelyo Tzingilev nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Melvin Woering made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to Pryaporets getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Boyan Yonov hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Ernest van der Laan made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdi Dekens in the 56th minute of play forced Pryaporets's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valeri Durov charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valeri Durov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Pryaporets was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeri Durov to maneuver through the defense. Gianluigi Donnarumma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ernest van der Laan's late challenge caught a Pryaporets's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernest van der Laan helped the player get up and apologised. After 89 played minutes Zijdewind SC got a freekick which was hit by Ernest van der Laan. In the 90th minute of the match Nikola Chavorski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melvin Woering showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Pieter-Jan van der Laan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
