The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas Rein got free with Aldo Candal in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Rein came free, but Aldo Candal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Brugge United's Aldo Candal got control of the ball when Jonas Rein tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 26 minutes into the game, when Mehmet Altuner put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. ＫÎＬＬÎＫ:s Robert Behrens showed great skill when he stopped Ryan Lanphant:s penalty. In the 28th minute, Ryan Lanphant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Till Lachenmaier from long distance, 29 minutes into the match, got Aldo Candal's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Aldo Candal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Musa Kara in the 32nd minute of play. Aldo Candal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İlyas Keleş in the 33rd minute of the match. Jonas Rein's late challenge caught a Brugge United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Rein helped the player get up and apologised. Brugge United's Gertjan De Poorter was substituted for Frank Terwenhout. A collision led to ＫÎＬＬÎＫ getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Jonas Rein hit a great ball. Dries Dirckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Behrens having to interfere. Robert Behrens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Nayely, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robert Behrens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gertjan De Poorter went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Brugge United's Tjorven Jaddon was substituted for Camiel Hennes. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell İlyas Keleş to make the kick off. In the 55th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryan Lanphant to maneuver through the defense. İlyas Keleş struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. The referee ignored Brugge United's protests and gave Tjorven Jaddon a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 85 minutes, İlyas Keleş managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ＫÎＬＬÎＫ's supporters crossed their fingers, but İlyas Keleş was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Talip Ayna in the 89th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert Behrens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Nayely in the 90th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, ＫÎＬＬÎＫ's İlyas Keleş got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Jochen Diericx hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Aldo Candal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Talip Ayna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th match minute, ＫÎＬＬÎＫ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Musa Kara to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle sounded Brugge United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ＫÎＬＬÎＫ.
