Svatoslav Pazdera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balázs Pálinkás, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute, Zsolt Vörös hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gusztáv Jászberényi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from František Balog in the 19th minute of play. Jarolím Jäger charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jarolím Jäger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Szombathely Squirrels booed when Potomci Dwayna Dibleyho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarolím Jäger didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, František Balog left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Potomci Dwayna Dibleyho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a little luck, Szombathely Squirrels's Gusztáv Jászberényi got control of the ball when Konstantin Pospěch tried to sneak it across the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Szombathely Squirrels's Ferenc Jászberényi tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Mihály Csontos hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 46th match minute, Potomci Dwayna Dibleyho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by František Balog to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell František Balog to make the kick off. Gusztáv Jászberényi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarolím Jäger in the 53rd minute of play. Svatoslav Pazdera made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Dénes Boross sent off a good shot on target. If Szilárd Csikós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Lajos Jakó got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Potomci Dwayna Dibleyho's František Balog sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gusztáv Jászberényi narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
