In the 4th minute, Mihály Földesi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Szombathely Squirrels fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The Szombathely Squirrels fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Szombathely Squirrels's Mihály Földesi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Andreas Wollans charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andreas Wollans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Andreas Wollans kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Tamás Fábián made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeoffrey Wiggers in the 22nd minute of play. With a little luck, Szombathely Squirrels's Tamás Fábián got control of the ball when Ricky Meijers tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27thth minute of the game Mihály Földesi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VC zoetwater's Nils Van De Wiele was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Mihály Földesi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Mihály Földesi came free, but Nils Van De Wiele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Szombathely Squirrels booed when VC zoetwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wayne Ketelers didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes, Szombathely Squirrels's Máté Medve shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nils Van De Wiele came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Szombathely Squirrels reached it. VC zoetwater's Nils Van De Wiele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihály Földesi in the 44th minute of play. Nils Van De Wiele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mihály Földesi's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After the first half Szombathely Squirrels were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mihály Földesi made a kick off. Mihály Földesis short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Nils Van De Wiele to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tamás Fábián showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky Meijers in the 60th minute of the match. Mihály Földesi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Nils Van De Wiele skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 66 minutes into the game, Szombathely Squirrels's Mihály Földesi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nils Van De Wiele made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Nils Van De Wiele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihály Földesi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tamás Fábián showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Wollans, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Mihály Csontos was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 79 minutes into the match. Nils Van De Wiele made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Mihály Földesi sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Mihály Földesi could shoot a difficult shot in the 97th minute, which Nils Van De Wiele however easily saved by the left post. The Szombathely Squirrels players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
