In the 4th minute Roelof van Kampen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius van Zijl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geert Arend van Zijl in the 5th minute of play forced Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Taco Zwartkruis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julius van Zijl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Govert Kool, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Taco Zwartkruis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Julias Rascals Apeldoorn from getting a goal against them. Julius van Zijl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Govert Kool in the 15th minute of the match. Geert Arend van Zijl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Taco Zwartkruis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cees Engelaar kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goal looked a bit too open when Martien Degenkamp came free, but Taco Zwartkruis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans-Cees Schattenberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute Mathijs Stroobos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius van Zijl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Taco Zwartkruis got control of the ball when Martien Degenkamp tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hans-Cees Schattenberg hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. FC Bal op het Dak's Geert Arend van Zijl shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 42nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Taco Zwartkruis but with some difficulty. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Martien Degenkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taco Zwartkruis having to interfere. In the 54th minute, FC Bal op het Dak's Gert Jan Schutrups seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gert Jan Schutrups the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Bal op het Dak protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gert Jan Schutrups had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 55th match minute, FC Bal op het Dak was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gert Jan Schutrups to maneuver through the defense. Gerard Mulder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Mulder came free, but Taco Zwartkruis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Gert Warneke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Julius van Zijl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Geert Arend van Zijl struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Taco Zwartkruis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Bal op het Dak. Ted Mook kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Rafael de Groot charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafael de Groot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes FC Bal op het Dak got a freekick which was hit by Rafael de Groot. Ted Mook's late challenge caught a Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ted Mook helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Bal op het Dak's Ted Mook got a free kick in the 84th minute. If Geert Arend van Zijl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Arjan Breugel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
