An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Verbeek in the 6th minute of play forced Şamaxı Bankirlər's goalkeeper Péter Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Çärkäz Dünyamaliyev fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Şamaxı Bankirlər's protests and gave Çärkäz Dünyamaliyev a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lemel SV booed when Şamaxı Bankirlər was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Çärkäz Dünyamaliyev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peter Smibum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Şamaxı Bankirlər's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Verbeek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 23 minutes into the match, Şamaxı Bankirlər's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Verbeek came free, but Péter Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Péter Čech didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Verbeek went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Falco Boerma kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Edward Verbeek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Péter Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Şamaxı Bankirlər's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Verbeek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Péter Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Verbeek, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Verbeek to strike the kick off in the second half. Mark Kimman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aqil Bağiyev in the 51st minute of play. With 59 minutes on the clock, Boudewijn Zeeman commited a dangerous tackle. Mark Kimman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loğman Hacibabayev, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Loğman Hacibabayev during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Lemel SV's Edward Verbeek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Péter Čech. That made the score 0-7 after 80 minutes of play. When Ted van der Schaaf came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Lemel SV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted van der Schaaf couldn't finish the play. Mark Kimman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qusif Zamanov in the 87th minute of the match. If Qusif Zamanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ted van der Schaaf's late challenge caught a Şamaxı Bankirlər's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ted van der Schaaf helped the player get up and apologised. Ted van der Schaaf kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Abdulhämid Ibrahimli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Şamaxı Bankirlər's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lemel SV the free kick. Abdulhämid Ibrahimli kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
