In the 4thth minute of the game Hudson de Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saiko FC's José Maria Velasco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's Hudson de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hudson de Godoi in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Velasco saved Saiko FC from getting behind. In the 11th minute, José Maria da Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Maria da Costa came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and José Maria Velasco could save by the left post. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Saiko FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Célio da Cunha was slow to take the kick. During this time LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Edvaldo Prado heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. João Carlos Almeida's late challenge caught a LOS PERNAMBUCANOS - FDFDF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When João Carlos Almeida was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. After 30 played minutes Saiko FC got a freekick which was hit by João Carlos Almeida. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hudson de Godoi got free with José Maria Velasco in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Maria Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hudson de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Maria da Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but José Maria Velasco made a huge save. 36 minutes into the game, Hudson de Godoi lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated José Maria Velasco. José Maria da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Velasco having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Saiko FC's zone, Hudson de Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Velasco came out of the goal and Hudson de Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the game, Hudson de Godoi lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated José Maria Velasco. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hudson de Godoi made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Eurico da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saiko FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eurico da Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cafu Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. César Severo charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed César Severo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
